Project Manager - R&D

Who We're Looking For: 

We are seeking an organized and proactive R&D Project Manager to lead product and engineering projects for our dynamic 80-person team with offices in Austin, TX, and India. This role focuses on fostering seamless cross-team coordination, ensuring meticulous attention to detail, and holding stakeholders accountable to deliver projects on time and within scope.

Location: Austin, TX (preferred); Secondary options: Dallas, TX; San Antonio, TX; Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA. Hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered based on candidate fit

Starting Salary: $110,000 (commensurate with experience and location)

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring clear planning, execution, and delivery of product and engineering initiatives.
  • Drive cross-team coordination between Austin-based and India-based teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with stakeholder expectations, holding team members and stakeholders accountable for their commitments.
  • Maintain rigorous attention to detail in tracking project progress, budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve project risks and issues, escalating as needed to keep initiatives on track.
  • Provide clear, concise status updates and reports to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Streamline processes to improve team efficiency and project delivery, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.

What You Need:

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in project management or people management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects.
  • Experience managing projects or teams in a technology or product development environment.
  • Proficiency with standard project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello, Microsoft Project) to track progress and manage workflows.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration, build relationships, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive accountability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with a focus on results.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with offshore or distributed teams, particularly in India, to support global collaboration.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies to enhance project delivery.
  • Comfort with occasional travel between Austin and other locations as needed.
